08.30am – 09.00am: Futuro House
Futuro house was painstakingly restored by artist Craig Barnes and landed at Central Saint Martins in 2015. This spaceship style, prefabricated fibreglass house was designed by Finnish architect Matti Suuronen in the late 1960s and is one of only 60 worldwide still in existence today.
On loan to Central Saint Martins, the Futuro is used by the college community as an active space for future gazing performances, talks, screenings and exhibitions, all embodying the spirit of this project and of the architecture itself. Don’t miss your chance to tour the Futuro which is rightly revered as being an iconic piece of not only architecture, but being a mass produced object, also of design. The tour will be led by Craig Barnes who will share his unique insight with attendees.
Note places are limited on the tour so book early to avoid disappointment
